These guards give up alot of their lives, because they feel honoring the unknown soldiers is one of, if not the, best jobs they can get. Show them and the fallen soldiers respect. To all you doofs who disliked and/or taunted them, you don't even have a tenth of the balls they got. You'd probably run home to mama at the first drop of rain while they'd keep patrolling even in a typhoon.

I never served so much as a day in the military, so I owe these men, living and dead, a greater debt yet, than I would had I been a brother in arms. For the video, Nothing but respect for those that guard the Tomb. A little History: When the Tomb was first introduced, people disrespected it with graffitti and such. So Guards were placed and in true military tradition, it is a ceremony to honor those that they guard. (Even though many think it is pure ly for the spectators.) Everything has a purpose. The number of steps, length of time for facing movements, plus what they give up for the rest of their lives just to be able to be a guard

In traditional martial arts there are no colored belts. The student receives a white belt when they enroll. Then after many years of training the belt becomes darkened. What we call a black belt is actually translated as dark belt (shiro obi) in Japanese. Colored belt were created to motivate children and their parents. Brown belts and black belts today are short cuts and are a "substitute" that only represents the "true" shiro obi". This is why belts are never washed because dirt = honor!

Hey USMCxheadshotx This series is built off the Hip Bump (the sweep that he performs) It is possible to go for a Kimura, it's actually part of the series. You would grab the wrist, reach down and lock it in with your own wrist, than lay back to your original position, hip out and crank it until he taps.

@Trustisaliability Many of the guys who are on the Honor Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier were Special Forces Members who earned the right to be on the Honor Guard. You have a 6 month training period to become one in which there is no contact with your family or the outside world. That means no tv or newspapers. After that you can earn your right as an Honor Guard. Most of these guys were U.S. Army Rangers. U.S. most elite.

@USMC670 right on USMC! It doesn't matter which branch it is, honoring a fallen Soldier, Marine, Sailor, or Airman is one of the highest rewards our nation has! Even though i wasn't in the Guard, when I was a soldier I got to represent one of the 21 gun salutes at two different funerals, and I will always feel honored to have been part of it! Great job for all of these servicemen/servicewomen!!!

@wbvp Delta is Army, not USAF. The AF guys that do accompany Delta on missions are Combat Controllers, not PJ's. Lastly, CG swimmers are trained only to jump into roughest seas in the worst storms, then care for the survivor until they make it to a hospital. PJ's are trained to go behind enemy lines to rescue downed pilots and medically treat them. Their training is much longer because it is combat oriented and requires other skills that are useless to a CG swimmer. In summary, you're full of it

Most likely you aren't creating enough space and/or your opponent is sitting back which is the wrong time to try this sweep. As for the space, watch the video again and pay close attention to Rodrigo when he shrimps out look how much space he is creating, how he is on his side forcing the opponent to lean in the direction of the sweep. I had the same problem and that was what I found to correct it. Good luck.

it can work grabbing at the wrist but that still leaves the opponent with a lot of arm movement and leverage to escape the grip as opposed to grabbing at the elbow/tricep. You will need to have very good grip strength relative to your opponent or pull it off quickly before they can react.

Why does this technique prefer to bring the knee across the stomach? If my opponent has his legs spread I find I dont have the leverage to get him over with both legs low. Its not "wrong"... just different IMO. The advantage to grabbing behind the triceps is that it allows me to pull his arm/weight FORWARD a bit easier as you pull his arm in to prevent him basing. Some gyms teach a whole guard game from collar/sleeve position of the hands and it might work well for that gyms system to teach it that way. Hope this helps?

If the Mastershield guards are installed correctly so their slope matches that of the roof, you'll not have to worry. Nothing will get stuck. You can still have icicles with gutter guards. I have icicles at my house in NH and it has NO gutters! When the super-chilled water makes it to the edge of the roof, and touches the cold edge, it simply freezes. Cold metal at the edge accelerates this process.

Tim, My gutters fell down under the last snowstorm. There was no guards. We also had huge icicles. I am still not sure whether or not to install the guards. Our roof is very steep so I can not get on the roof and I am the woman, and the yard is VERY woody. The Mastershield looks appealing but the notion that it's attached to the roof - how do I check if it is indeed free of debris? Maybe I should not do guards at all? Also, what if the leafs and needles get stuck along the mesh? Thanks!

The gutter guards that can not be removed , ie , mesh screns are fine untill all the dust from your roof builds up into soil and can grow grass with all the seeds birds drop in them . It is just a simple fact that you need to maintain gutters . once the mesh systems are in place how will u remove them and clean your gutters from grass ,. Take the money it costs to install mesh screens, invest it , then take the proceeds from that investement and pay a professional to clean them out.

Not so fast. I'm about to write a column about this. As for why ice dams form, I have numerous columns at my AsktheBuider website about that. You can easily have ice dams form in regular gutters that don't have guards on them. It just takes more ice buildup to happen as the gutter chokes closed with ice. Gutter guards create a cold metallic surface for the super-chilled water to freeze quickly, so that's why they do create ice dams faster.

Gutter guards have a serious down side, After snows, I have found that they cause ice dams! Snow melts on the roof, the water runs onto the guard and freezes on the gutterguard, It gradually builds up and causes an ice dam that can lead to water seeping under the shigles. 30 years without gutterguard and never an ice dam. Now I have them several inches thick and worried about how much damage they are going to cause!!

Great vid, I enjoy your enthusiasm and believe the test conditions were fair enough. But why do you not mention that mesh guards need to be detergent cleaned every couple weeks when you have alot of trees? Why was gutter helmet not reviewed because that one supposedly does not require cleaning ever? And I have seen all types of gutter guards direct water right over the gutter in heavy rain? My gutters need attention every other week from spring till fall and would greatly appriciate any info.

You need to ask them yourself about slate. A very tiny percentage of roofs in the USA are slate. Heat systems melt snow. You need to ask yourself the more important question. What happens to all that meltwater? Where does it drip? Where does it turn to ice again? How thick does the ice get over a winter where you rarely get above freezing for months or the gutter is on the north side that doesn't get sun in the northern hemisphere. The meltwater can be an enormous issue.

Mastershield is the one that is clean. Gutter Glove is the one with debris on it. Note:Glove now installs at the pitch of the roof so you will get similar results between the 2 in retest. There are similar products non "brand names" that do the same job, but cost almost half of what shield, glove, LeafFilter, and Leaf Solution cost. For those only comparing to gutter cleanings you miss the value of stopping the damge between cleanings-they can be costly.

from some of the prices i have seen for gutter helmet you could pay somebody to clean your gutter for twenty years and break even.anytime you have any type of metals under shingles it causes the shingles to get brittle. the micro mesh appears to work. but anytime your cleaning gutters with a fiberglass ladder don't lean out they slide easy

The wind comes primarily from the south and west at this location. There are dead spots up on the upper roof in valleys above the gutters where leaves collect. You still have to go up on the roof and clean those, as the leaves never make it down to the gutter!
